Help Protect Whetstone Gulf State Park:
An invasive insect called Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (HWA) kills hemlock trees. Hemlocks are a key tree species and loss of hemlock populations would dramatically reduce the overall health of our forests and urban green spaces. Help us track the spread and absence of this invasive forest pest.
You Can Help Protect Whetstone Gulf State Park From HWA!

Join us and learn about:

  •  Overview of Hemlock Woolly Adelgid & Other invasive forest pests
  •  Overview of SLELO PRISM
  •  Hemlock Tree Identification & Ecology
  •  HWA Early Detection Survey Techniques
  •  How to Report Observations Using the iMapInvasives Mobile App
  •  Citizen Science/Volunteer Opportunities
