4-H enrollment night

Join 4-H

Anyone and everyone can join!  Boys and girls between the ages of 5-19 can participate in 4-H.

The New York State 4-H Membership year runs from October 1 to September 30. Youth who are five years of age, on or before January 1st of the current club year, may participate as a 4-H Cloverbud** member. Youth who are seven years of age, on or before January 1st of the current club year, may participate as a full 4-H member. Youth who turn nineteen years of age, on or before January 1st of the current club year, may not participate as a 4-H member. Persons with an intellectual disability may participate fully in 4-H programs as long as their developmental age is considered to fall between five and nineteen years of age.

4-H programs focus on three main ideas relevant to today's youth: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), Healthy Living and Citizenship.

Be it at fairs, events, workshops, school programs or clubs - 4-H aims to enrich the education of young people through hands-on experiences; making them aspire to learn more, give back to their communities and become responsible, capable adults.

4-H is Flexible, Fun and Voluntary!

You get to do the projects you want to do when you want to.  Clubs set their own meeting time and place.  Many groups meet in the homes of their members, or use school or church meeting rooms.  The office conference room is available for all clubs.

A 4-H club is a group of at least five youth who meet to work on projects, perform community service, conduct meetings, and have fun together. To join 4-H, choose among these options:

  1. Seek and join an established club
  2. Start a new 4-H club of your own
  3. Enroll in 4-H as an independent member

How Much Does It Cost?

Annual participation fee is $10/member of $25/family.

**Late fees are assessed for re-enrollments only after January 31 st. Re-enroll 2/1 – 5/1 add $5 per youth.

Youth must be enrolled by May 1 st to participate in County Fair

However, no one is ever excluded form 4-H due to inability to pay.
