Family & Parenting

Cornell University Cooperative Extension’s building individual and family strengths focuses on promoting positive relationships between parents and other caregivers and their children. Information and classes are available on discipline strategies, ages and stages of child development, managing conflict, increasing effective parenting skills and other topics related to supporting families.

Family, in all its diverse forms, is the heart and backbone of a healthy society. Our mission is to improve the well-being of the family through strength-based programs that educate, influence public policy, and help families put evidence-based information to work in their lives. In addition to a variety of workshops for parents and caregivers, we also offer resources specifically developed for parenting educators, professional training opportunities for individuals who support families, and internships for students in the human services field of study.
