What's flowing down the maple pipeline?"

The NYS Maple Producers’ Association is pleased to announce that the popular Mid-Winter Maple Classic conference will return in January 2024. The Syracuse Oncenter Convention Center is the new location for the conference, which combines a vendor trade show and a forum of workshops for maple producers. The conference will open at 4pm Friday January 5 and again Saturday January 6 at 8am. This year’s theme of “What’s Flowing Down the Maple Pipeline?” will focus on the newest techniques and innovations, giving attendees tools to produce high-quality maple syrup efficiently and sustainably.

The conference is being organized by a committee of association members who are themselves maple producers, including Lyle Merle, Karl Wiles, Doug Thompson, Tom Kaufman, Dan Weed, Kristina Ferrare, Helen Thomas. The committee is chaired by Michael Grottoli of Grottoli’s Maple, Middle Granville, NY. Educational workshops are being organized by the Cornell University Maple Program co-directors, Aaron Wightman and Adam Wild. The Oncenter Convention Center provides a state-of-the-art facility with classrooms, banquet hall, trade show floor and gathering places for meals and conversation, all together in one building. From the 32 amazing speakers and 27 workshops the Cornell University Maple Program have organized to the trade show and sweet activities planned, you'll leave these two days refreshed and ready for the season ahead.

The Mid-Winter Maple Classic Conference is here! We are looking forward to seeing you at the OnCenter in Syracuse, NY on Friday, January 5 and/or Saturday, January 6, 2024.

Here are some logistics issues for you so you know what to expect this weekend.

Address:

The OnCenter in Syracuse is located at 800S. State Street, Syracuse, NY 13202

Parking:

There is an open flat lot and a parking garage opposite the OnCenter complex on S. State Street. Identify yourself as a participant of the maple conference to the attendant and parking is free.

Registration and Meal information:

Name tags and meal tickets are available at registration. If you registered by 12/29/23, you will receive a meal ticket that says “pre-registration” on it with your registration materials. If you registered after that day, your meal ticket is a late registration ticket. Meals are not guaranteed with a later registration ticket.

Registration on Friday, January 5 opens at 4:00 pm in the lobby of the OnCenter. All Friday events are in Exhibit Hall A, where the tradeshow and vendors are located.

Doors open on Saturday, January 6 at 7:30 am and registration begins at 8:00 am. Continental breakfast and refreshments will be available from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.
