Introducing the 2024 Grape Pruning Workshops!

Are you a grape grower looking to learn how to properly prune your vines? If so, you may be interested in joining ENYCHP's viticulture specialist, Jeremy Schuster, for a series of four-hour workshops focused on grape vine pruning. During the workshops, you will learn a variety of pruning techniques and gain valuable knowledge about how to maintain vine balance in commercial vineyards throughout the Hudson Valley. This workshop is open to anyone – a grower, a home gardener, or just a plant enthusiast.

Workshop Schedule:

Ives Hollow February 8, 2024 12:30PM-4:30PM (Register by January 25)

Join us at Ives Hollow Vineyard in Washington County, where we will learn how to prune Brianna, Petite Pearl, Frontenac Gris, and St. Croix vines using the hanging high wire or top wire system.

Join ENCHP's Viticulture specialist, Jeremy Schuster, at Samascott Orchard in Columbia County. You can learn how to cane prune Concord table grapes at this workshop on a high-wire training system.

Join us at Soutridge Distillery and Winery on February 29th to learn how to cane prune Valvin Muscat and Noiret on a vertical shoot position training system.

Hudson Valley Research Laboratory March 13, 2024 12:30PM-4:30PM (Register by February 29)

Join us to learn how to prune Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir in the research vineyard at the Hudson Valley Research Lab, where vines are trained to a vertical shoot position training system and will be cane pruned.
