Woodlot Owner's Workshop

The NY Forest Owner’s Assoc. is sponsoring a diverse workshop for woodlot owners on Sat. Sept. 7^th, 10am to 3pm, 1668 State Hyw. 3, Harrisville, NY. Jerry Cibelli is hosting the workshop at his property at the corner of State Hwy 3 and Greenwood Creek Rd, 15 minutes east of Harrisville. The day’s program will include equipment demonstrations (band mill, firewood processor, and skidding winch) by Hud-Son Forest Equipment. A presentation by the American Chestnut Assoc. on their introduction of a blight-free strain of the chestnut will happen after lunch. The program will conclude with a woods walk in a white pine stand and a hardwood stand, featuring planted species with protection from deer browsing. The program is free and open to the public. Bring a friend and your bag lunch and you will definitely go home with some insight to forest management and maybe some milled lumber, firewood, and door prizes!
