It’s time to get ready for NYCAMH’s 2025 Farm Fit Testing Clinics! Start planning now to decide who needs testing and how they’ll complete their medical clearances.

Registration opens soon, and medical clearance documentation must be submitted one full week before your clinic date – so don’t wait! Planning ahead will ensure a smooth and stress-free experience.

Reminder for Fit Testing Clinics

• Medical clearance must be completed and documentation submitted to NYCAMH prior to clinic date
• 3M offers an online medical clearance option at respexam.com
• Fit testing is $40 for small farms and $78 with annual gross receipts greater than $350K or 1,000 or more milking cows
• Registration is required and begins January 1, 2025

When to Use a Respirator

A respirator can protect you from harmful airborne substances related to several common farm tasks including:

• Cleaning barns or other animal confinement areas
• Handling dusty/moldy hay or bedding materials
• Mixing footbath chemicals
• Applying certain pesticides, fertilizers or other crop chemicals (check label requirements)
• Silo filling, unloading or maintenance
• Grain or silage handling or working in grain bins
• Welding
