There will be a snowmobile safety course sponsored by Turin Ridge Riders (Saturday November 30th at the Turin Fire Hall located at 4239 State Route 26,Turin, NY. The course will be from 9:00am to 5:00pm with lunch being provided by Turin Ridge Riders.
Pre-registration is preferred and can be done by contacting Cornell Cooperative Extension of Lewis County, M-F 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. by calling (315) 376-5270. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Children from age 10-13 must take this course to be allowed to operate a snowmobile on lands upon which snowmobiling is allowed while accompanied by (within 500 feet of) a person who is at least 18 years of age.
Children from age 14-17 must take this course to be allowed to operate a snowmobile on lands upon which snowmobiling is allowed without being accompanied by a person who is at least 18 years of age.
A student must have reached his or her 10th birthday on or before the day the course ends in order to be eligible to receive a snowmobile safety certificate.
